The Flagship program at PATH is the 2 year clinical mental health counselling program. Structured based on post-graduate training programs in the United States, this qualification sets a new gold-standard in the Israeli counselling field. Starting with the theoretical background, the first year combines important key-theories essential to the field, together with the start of the student’s own personal growth journey and they develop themselves into an effective counselor.
As the year progresses, and into the second year, important modules will focus on some of the more current issues that therapists and counsellors deal with today including – but not limited to – addictions, abuse, family dynamics, and adolescence. Students will be exposed to a range of methods for use in clinical work, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family systems, and Motivational Interviewing.
In addition to the regular classes, a number of intensive workshop days will be scheduled throughout the year when PATH will host guest lecturers from Israel and abroad on special related topics. These intensive workshops will also be open to trained clinicians from outside the course, and give students a chance to network and mingle with other professionals in the field.
At the culmination of the program, certification of completion from the PATH Center is provided to successful graduates. Aside from the extensive education gained, this certification has also been recognised by internationally respected organisations such as the BACP (UK), and enabled students to work in external clinical systems. In addition PATH is in the process of applying for additional accreditation and is in advanced stages awaiting final confirmation from two respected universities abroad.
